Maybe this will prompt Tanya to post something....nah

Dear readers...yes all 3 of you. I promise to do whatever I can to gently push Tanya to update our blog. I encourage you as well to nicely remind her of her blog-author duties. Hopefully 2011 will be a more blog-tastic year.

Thank you,

Complete... Finally!

~Before~
This was our attempt last year to make this yard look good.
We dug up the back part and planted 2 different kind of bushs, a lot of back ache and sweat.
We thought it looked good (for a few weeks). But we have a lot of drainage problems. It slopes to the back always making a puddle. Also if you notice the tree that is at an angle cracked in half later in a bad rain storm. Which left an ugly stump.
So this year we called up Nick's cousin-in-law who does this for a living and had him make it my sanctuary.
~After~
Look the stump is gone! Well this is the best pic so far. We love it. Now we just need the weather to get nice so we can have BBQ's and just lounge out. Thanks Jordan.

The Triumphant return of our blog

So I've been slacking big time. It got busy around here and now were behind on everything. Where do I begin....

Livi got her First Haircut!
(I know it looks like a boy cut, but we had to get rid of the mullet!)
She did well for her first time
Thanks to Cookie Cutters.

Livi being Livi. Always laughing and cute as could be..

She's growing up so fast. Here's a few things she does now:
-She loves playing with her dog "BOBY" (Toby).
-She's been sleeping in a Big girl bed, after falling out of her crib twice.
-Learning a lot more sign language, so she can have conversations w/ Grandma
-Makes up here own stories that make us laugh.
-Open the back door to let Toby out and in. (this has been WONDERFUL!!!)
-Sing and dance (We enjoy this the most)

So this one is kind of funny to me now. I had good intentions a while ago to post this and share it with you all. So several months later here it is. The is called Crockpot Nachos. We really liked it. Here's the recipe for those who want to try. It was easy and I like anything Easy...

1 small bag frozen corn
1 can black beans
2 large frozen boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 16-oz jar medium salsa, such as Pace medium picante sauce
shredded cheddar cheese
tortilla chips
sour cream
chopped cilantro
diced avocado

Pour bag of frozen corn in bottom of crockpot. Place frozen chicken breasts on top of corn and cover with rinsed and drained black beans and jar of medium salsa. Cook on high for 1 hour, and then on low for 4 hours. Shred chicken with forks. Serve with tortilla chips and add toppings to individual servings.**Notes - It is very important that you use MEDIUM salsa in this. Mild simply isn't flavorful enough. Be sure to serve with tortilla chips, and not tortillas. The salty crunchy chips make this so good!

Belated VALENTINES DAY

We made this day for Liv. She opened her card and her gift from us.

Then we made cookie's together...

Then we headed off to The Living planet Aquarium and had dinner. We had a great day!

We love to hang out with my Uncle Jason and his family
(Livi's 2nd cousins)

We also made it down to visit "Papa" (as Livi says it) and Grandma Adams in good ol' Vegas. Nick was able to get out w/ his Dad and do some 4-wheeling like the old times. We ate good food, went shopping, and showed Liv the Vegas strip. She loved all the lights and the water show at the Bellagio. We also saw the lions at the MGM; which she loved.

Eric and Abby came to visit in May and sad to say that this is the only picture's we got. They are precious ones though. Long day of fun for the three amigos. We miss them bunches and are exicted that we get to see them again... soon!

Ok I am exhausted from all this catching up. So girls this is to be continued........

The Quest, Perfected (or) 1984: No More!

So I have been debating whether or not to write a post of the Utes season. My reasoning for not wanting to was that I didn't want to sound like I was bragging or belittling the team down south or its fans. But hey, all is fair in love and football and I would hope they would do the same. This season started with so much hype surrounding BYU and their 14 ranking in the polls. I had even convinced myself that Utah was an inferior team, that Max Hall and Austin Collie were the best 1-2 punch since Brady-Moss, and that I was going to have to see BYU go to a BCS game. Not much fun for a Utah fan. My only hope for the season was that we could pull out a close 2nd and possibly a Las Vegas bowl berth. However as the season dragged on I began to see that BYU had some issues it needed to work on (pass defense anyone?) and Utah was quietly taking care of business. BYU escaped a close one to the worst team the PAC-10 has ever seen and Utah, as usual in the regular season, seemed to play to the level of its competition but eventually pulling out each game. In contrast to 2004 I never had a feeling of superiority over any team (Weber & Utah St. excluded). It just felt like this season was going to be a heart-breaker. (Little did I know that the AP was going to be the one to break it.) When BYU lost to TCU I was slightly disappointed. I really was looking forward to two 11-0 teams meeting in late November with the conference title & a BCS berth on the line. I also got really afraid of TCU. After Utah pulled out one of the most amazing games I have EVER seen against that same TCU team. I knew we were in for something special this season. When Utah pummeled BYU in the final game of the regular season, my only thought was that I hope we ge a quality opponent in the BCS. Turns out we got an opponent that was over-hyped, over rated, and severely over-matched. Alabama. Now we ALL know that the BCS brass were thinking that "they were gonna show Utah a thing or two about football." But what they didn't understand is that we here in the Mtn. West have heart and, when the situation arises, can play with anyone in the country. Yes, even USC & Florida. During any given season, Utah, BYU, TCU and even Boise St. are better than 90% of the teams in the nation. This season however, Utah was better than 99%. Utah handed Alabama a beating worse than Rocky vs. Ivan Drago and earned itself a number 2 ranking in the AP polls. Amazing. Mind-blowing. And as Kevin would say. Unbelievable. A number 2 ranking for a non-BCS team in the day of the BCS is unheard of. Some would say (myself included) even more amazing than the infamous 1984 season of BYU (where they only played 1 team with a winnig record and somehow won the national championship......) or the season where Utah basketball made it to the NCAA championship game. Regardless of those opinions Utah opened the door for the next non-BCS team to have a shot at the BCS national championship. Utah was the original BCS buster, the first team to go to the BCS twice and hoefully the first non-BCS team to end up in the BCS national championship game. Utah will have some rebuilding to do next year so its chances of returning are slim. But next year, if for some reason BYU can pull out a win at Oklahoma and finish undefeated; you're welcome and good luck. 13-0.
